Still Life in 12 Parts mid-process, 2022
Paper and Digital Print
32"x30"
This series, "Deconstructed Life", explores the dynamics between objects that share a single composition. The image is cut into multiple parts unrelated to the contour of the individual objects themselves and then rearranged into separate images. I'm curious about the brain's quest to reassemble and make something broken whole again.
Still Life with Bird, Ruby Peach, 2022
Digital print, colored Mylar, graphite
Each 8.5"x11"
I explored how these altered still lives could live in a digital space and replaced the original palette with abstracted fields of color while also skewing the geometry of the shapes. The results inspired several 3D ceramic works created from the paper pattern.
